That’s right – The Green Grid Technical Committee face-to-face meeting will be at the Emerson Network Power Learning Center in beautiful Columbus, OH. The TC meeting begins with a welcoming reception Wednesday evening November 3rd with the full working sessions running all day Thursday the 4th through Noon on Friday the 5th.
For those of you who are already Contributing Members of The Green Grid, please come join us as the Technical Committee face-to-face meetings are informative, action-packed (you will be asked to participate, actively!), a great networking forum, and quite often entertaining. The formal agenda is currently in development but in reviewing the open work register along with the cue of interesting projects spanning energy efficiency, availability, operations, the on-going data center design guide efforts, and a host of other timely topics – there literally is something for everybody involved in the data center ecosphere.
Okay, here comes the arm-twisting! If you are not a member of The Green Grid, or are but at the General level, I strongly encourage you to consider joining as a Contributing Member. The benefits of participation and the access you gain at the Contributing level far exceed the cost in time, money, or resources that you may invest in membership. Sure there are plenty of other forums, networks, LinkedIn groups, and other venues related to data centers and energy efficiency; however I doubt that any of them will put you shoulder-to-shoulder with your peers working in real-time on projects, activities, research, and policy that have a global impact upon the data center industry. Certainly none come to mind where you will have more fun or receive as much personal recognition.
Disclaimer: I am on the Board of Directors of The Green Grid, and may be a bit zealous in my endorsement, but do feel free to call or email me about The Green Grid and/or data center energy efficiency.
